Limitation of Institutional Liability
In the event that an administrative hearing officer or a court of record determines that any publications issued by AC International University create a contractual or quasi-contractual relationship with any individual, the maximum amount of damages recoverable by that individual shall be limited to the amount paid by the person for the services provided by the University, such as admission, enrollment, continued enrollment, or any other service rendered. For clarity, “publications” shall include, but not be limited to, any written forms or documents issued by AC International University related to applications for admission, enrollment, waivers of liability, consents to medical treatment, residence hall occupancy, and all other official documents or communications in support of the University’s educational mission.

Constitution Day
In compliance with federal legislation for institutions receiving federal funding, AC International University will hold an educational program each year on September 17 to honor the signing of the U.S. Constitution. This program serves as a reminder of the Constitution’s significance in establishing justice, promoting general welfare, and securing the blessings of liberty for all. The authorizing legislation can be found in Section 111 of Division J of Pub. L. 108-447, the “Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2005.”

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act)
AC International University adheres to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, ensuring the confidentiality of student educational records and their right to privacy. Under FERPA, students have the right to:
- Inspect and review their education records within 45 days of the request.
- Seek amendment of records they believe to be inaccurate or in violation of privacy.
- Consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information, except under authorized circumstances.
- File a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education regarding any alleged non-compliance with FERPA by the University.

Title IX: Sexual Harassment, Prohibited Conduct, and Non-Discrimination Policy
AC International University is committed to ensuring that all its education programs and activities do not discriminate on the basis of sex/gender, including sexual orientation, gender identity, and pregnancy status, in compliance with Title IX. The University prohibits sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating and domestic violence, and stalking.
ACIU also prohibits retaliation against anyone who opposes discrimination or participates in an investigation of such conduct. Violations of this policy will be addressed through the University’s disciplinary procedures.

ACIU Email Policy
All faculty, staff, and students are required to maintain an ACIU email account to ensure access to essential communications. It is each individual’s responsibility to regularly check their ACIU email, as it serves as the official method of communication for the University.
Board Policy on Access to Records
Students at AC International University have the right to inspect and review their education records within 45 days of a request, with certain exceptions such as financial records of parents and confidential letters of recommendation. Disputes regarding record accuracy can be addressed through an impartial hearing.
