Bachelor’s in Energy Technology (BET)

Program Description: The Bachelor’s in Energy Technology (60 hours) builds on the associate program with advanced courses, preparing students for leadership roles in energy sectors, focusing on sustainability, innovation, and global energy challenges. The Bachelor’s in Energy Technology program focuses on the technical aspects of energy generation, conversion, storage, and distribution, encompassing both traditional and renewable energy sources, preparing graduates to work in the field of designing, developing, and managing sustainable energy systems across various industries; including power plants, energy efficiency, and infrastructure development.

Objectives: Students in the Bachelor’s in Energy Technology program will:

  • knowledge and analytic skills in the science and technology of today’s diverse energy systems and industries.
  • understand the fundamental principles in physics, mathematics, and engineering relevant to energy systems.
  • develop skills in areas of renewable energy technologies, energy conservation and efficient energy.
  • explore the concepts of sustainability in energy systems.
  • understand power generation, transmission, and distribution.
  • assess the environmental impact of energy projects and propose mitigation strategies.
  • solve problem in energy sector, such as: optimizing of production, reducing emissions, etc.
  • develop communication and collaboration skills, as energy engineers often work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • learn how to manage technical or professional projects within various energy sectors
  • prepare for a careers in the energy industry.

Description 

The Exercise and Sports Science (EXSS) minor is designed for students who desire a greater understanding of the physiological and biomechanical principles of exercise and fitness. The minor provides coursework in biomechanical principles, prevention and treatment of injuries, exercise leadership, and health behavior. 

Program Outcome Objectives 

  • Describe the underlying scientific foundations of physical activity. 
  • Evaluate information about physical activity from a scientific basis. 
  • Describe the relationship between physical activity participation and health, wellness, and quality of life. 
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current physical activity guidelines and recommendations. 
  • Design and evaluate physical activity programs that promote health and improve quality of life.
